In-Progression and Temporary (TPT/STS) Employees Only

Plant Vacation Shutdown 2018 

All In-Progression & Temporary (TPT/STS) Employees hired from August 2012 through June 2018:  This communication is regarding the Plant’s July Shutdown period. Please pay close attention to the instructions below regarding whether or not to file for Unemployment Benefits.

Truck STS & TPT Employees:

Will be on layoff for the entire shutdown period, July 2, 2018 through July 15, 2018

and will return to work at the regularly scheduled start time during the week of July

16, 2018. You should follow the Unemployment filing instructions below.

Transit STS & TPT Employees:

Will be on layoff for the shutdown period, July 2, 2018 through July 8, 2018

and will return to work at the regularly scheduled start time during the week of July

9, 2018. You should follow the Unemployment filing instructions below for the 1st week. YOU WILL NOT FILE UNEMPLOYMENT FOR THE 2ND WEEK.

Truck In-Progression Employees (unless otherwise notified by your Process Coach) will be on vacation and/or layoff from July 2, 2018 through July 15, 2018 and will return to work at the regularly scheduled start time during the week of July 16, 2018.

You should only file for unemployment for the second week of shutdown and either report 16 hours or 20 hours of vacation pay for that period.

Transit In-Progression Employees (unless otherwise notified by your Process Coach) will be on vacation and/or layoff from July 2, 2018 through July 8, 2018 and will return to work at the regularly scheduled start time during the week of July 9, 2018. YOU WILL NOT FILE FOR UNEMPLOYMENT THE 2ND WEEK.

To calculate the earnings to report, please use the following formula:

Total Earnings to Report = Hourly Rate x vacation pay and/or holiday pay, and/or hours worked on 7/2/17 + shift premium if applicable.

UNEMPLOYMENT INFORMATION: STS and TPT Employees should call the Unemployment Office and report their unemployment status after 1:00 PM Sunday 7/8/18 to file your weekly claim for unemployment benefits for week ending 7/7/18.

For the second week of lay-off, Truck employees should also call the Unemployment Office and report their unemployment status after 1:00 PM Sunday 7/15/18 to file your weekly claim for unemployment benefits for week ending 7/14/18.

IF YOU WORK THE VOLUNTARY 2ND WEEK OF TRUCK LAYOFF DO NOT FILE UNEMPLOYMENT.

Weekly claims can be filed on the Internet at www.moclaim.mo.gov or by telephone at 816-889-3101 (if that is a local call for you) or 800-320-2519. You can also check the status of your claim on that website. Both the telephone and Internet automated filing is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The telephone lines are available for weekly claim filing 24 hours a day from 1:00 p.m. on Sundays until 5:00 p.m. on Fridays, except for holiday weeks. 

Motorcycle Committee 

The UAW Local 249 Motorcycle Committee is hosting the 1st Annual Robert Crowley Memorial Solidarity Ride on June 30th. Registration will start at the Union Hall at 4:30 and Kickstands up at 5:30 PM. All Bikes and Vintage Vehicles are welcome. All proceeds for this ride will go to Robert Crowley’s Family. Afterwards visit Valley Speedway for Buy America Night, show your Ford ID and get in half price.

Solidarity Concert 

The UAW Local 249 Motorcycle Committee is hosting a Solidarity Concert on July 7th at the Union Hall. The Rub will be selling BBQ and Beer will be sold by Valley Pub. There will be live performers and plenty of fun.

Start Times/4th of July Conversion

On Friday, June 29, 2018 Transit #3 shift will have a 3:00 pm start time. On Sunday, July 1, 2018 C crew will switch to day shift start time. 4th of July will automatically convert to paid personal. You must go to labor to fill out a form to un-convert.

Union Hall Hours 

During the vacation shutdown, the union hall will be closed the 1st week of July. We will be open regular hours the 2nd week.
