Vacation Shutdown Bulletin
TRANSIT SYSTEM and SUPPORT EMPLOYEES TEMPORARY LAYOFF (TLO)
Unless instructed to report to work by your supervisor, the Transit System will be on layoff for one week beginning on Monday, June 26, 2017 and will return to work on Monday, July 17, 2017 (due to vacation shutdown) at your regularly scheduled start time. YOU WILL ONLY FILE FOR UNEMPLOYMENT FOR ONE WEEK UNLESS OTHERWISE DIRECTED BY THE VACATION SHUTDOWN INFORMATION BELOW. You are required to report your unemployment status to the State Unemployment Office using the instructions below. Failure to follow the instructions below could result in your disqualification for Unemployment Benefits and SUB pay, if eligible.
Claiming unemployment is a two-step process. Ford is taking care of the first step to begin the claim. You will still need to file for your weekly benefits after your claim has been activated. The claim week runs from Sunday through Saturday. The week must be claimed after the Saturday week ending date. Weekly claims can be filed on the Internet at www.ui.labor.mo.gov or by telephone at 816-889-3101(if that is a local call for you) or 800-320-2519. To claim unemployment, it must be submitted on Sunday, July 2, 2017 for week ending Saturday, July 1, 2017.
If you do any work during the week, you must report the gross amount of any wages on your claim for the week. (Sunday, June 25, 2017 is considered part of the layoff week. IF YOU HAPPEN TO WORK SUNDAY, JUNE 25TH DO NOT FILE FOR UNEMPLOYMENT, YOU WILL RECEIVE SHORT WORK WEEK.) It is very important that all wages be reported accurately on weekly claims. Wages are to be reported during the week in which the work is performed. This includes wages from other work performed during the week you are claiming.
The state has to process your claim before Ford Motor Co can process SUB pay, the longer you wait or if you make a mistake with unemployment the longer it takes to get SUB pay. It usually takes 1 to 2 weeks for you to receive SUB pay after unemployment has been processed. You can check your claim status for UE on www.moclaims.mo.gov to see when the state processed your claim that will give you an idea when to expect SUB pay. You must have 1 year of seniority to be eligible for SUB pay.
If you have further questions or concerns, please contact Hourly Personnel at (816) 459-1011.
